How We Started
In 2010, we started to experiment with the wild, untamed and delicious ingredients from the Sonoran Desert. We researched the rich abundance of plant life and flavors that have been here long before us. Our goal was simple but ambitious: to honor the desert and to make something different than anything else.

We started with caramel

Through trail and error, mostly error, scrotched pots, late nights, a lot of tasting we learned how to work with unique desert ingredients and how the desert can shape the flavor. Each batch taught us something new.
Eventually, one caramel was born, Velvet Mesquite honey caramel, then another and another. And from that moment of discovery, Untamed Confections was born in the wilds of the Sonoran desert. A small, desert‑rooted confectionery built on curiosity, craft, and the belief that the Sonoran Desert has stories worth tasting.
